Ilana Abrams RMT
Ilana, RMT, has over ten years of experience in healthcare and previously worked in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and with the BC Cancer Agency. She adopts a holistic approach to her work, considering a whole-person perspective. By examining how posture and patterns contribute to the day-to-day functioning of a body, she aims to identify the primary reasons for pain or discomfort. Each session provides time for assessment and treatment and an opportunity to discuss guidance for pain management and recovery at home.
Ilana values the physically therapeutic aspect of massage therapy and its effects on the nervous system through relaxation. Recognizing stress and pain as inevitable facets of life, she believes that acquiring tools to mitigate their symptoms is crucial for coping and recovery.
As a newcomer to the Cowichan Valley, Ilana is enthusiastic about building connections within her community and eager to meet individuals seeking to improve their health and wellness. Unsure of how massage therapy can support you toward your goals? That’s okay! Ilana is happy to navigate this journey with you.

MACP CCC
Kate is a Canadian Certified Counsellor, and has completed her master’s degree in counselling psychology. She has worked in helping professions both clinically and in the community for the past ten years supporting people through mental health struggles and chronic health conditions.
Now, working as a counsellor, Kate focuses on building collaborative relationships with her clients that empower them to make shifts in their lives. Her undergraduate degree is in kinesiology, which grants a unique mind-body lens when considering wellness. This whole-person approach extends to acknowledging a person’s experience in society, their upbringing, and any other cultural identities including race, religion, spirituality, sexual orientation, and gender.
Kate is passionate about self-acceptance and allowing people to feel comfortable in their own skin. During her practicum at New Bloom Counselling, she gained experience and knowledge about neurodiversity-affirming care, and especially enjoys working with late-diagnosed adults with ADHD and autism as they uncover what it might mean to them. She incorporates those skills when working with all types of clients, whether they are seeking counselling for support with anxiety, depression, seeking purpose and direction, wanting to develop communication skills, work through trauma, recover from burn out, or deepen their personal relationships.
The formats of counselling Kate uses depends on the client and presenting topic, but typically are narrative therapy, emotion-focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), and parts work or internal family systems. Her orientation is a foundation of attachment theory, informed by a somatic framework. She does her best to tailor to a client’s learning style, and background knowledge in a topic, so no two treatment plans are identical.

Kyle Cheveldayoff RPsyc
After relocating from Victoria, I now live in the Cowichan Valley on an off-grid farmstead. I have a five-year-old daughter named Hope who lights up my life and keeps me grounded in the present moment, and an amazing Golden Retriever named Kona that has transitioned from being a service dog in my Fernwood office to a goofy farm dog that likes to protect the ducks and chickens. I meditate each morning upon waking to start my day balanced in mind, body, and spirit. My research into areas of psychology and consciousness has landed me in a core belief that we are all spiritual beings having a physical experience, life is what we make of it, and that the mysteries of life and the Universe are endless and full of potential.
More about Kyle’s Journey
My journey into the health sciences first started as a Personal Trainer at a squash club in Edmonton. Enjoying sports and outdoor activities I decided to undertake a bachelor of science in kinesiology in my mid-20s. After completing my degree, I had a choice to continue my studies with a graduate degree in exercise physiology or instead embark on a master’s degree overseas in rehabilitation sciences (Physical Therapy). I decided on the rehabilitation field and moved to Glasgow Scotland. Upon graduation, I returned to Canada and completed the board exam to work as a Physical Therapist. During my time as a new Physio life brought forth some major challenges financially and interpersonally, landing me in a deep and dark depression dealing with severe panic attacks. This was the catalyst that sparked my journey into understanding how the mind works.
The healthcare system failed me, as the pharmaceutical approach by the psychiatrist did not get to the source of the problem. I took a hint from the Universe that I was not on the path that I wanted to be on, so I fired my psychiatrist and took matters into my own hands. I threw my anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds in the trash and spent much time pondering a career that would have me so excited each day that I would jump out of bed each morning. I then embarked on a journey to become a full-time firefighter in Calgary Alberta. I immediately began to train and rehabilitate my body – and subsequently my mind – into a finely tuned machine within a year. During this challenging time, the Universe first started to interact with me through synchronicities popping up and interesting coincidences, which often had coded messages for me to unpack later in meditation. Life started to seem like it was playing with me, and the more I sought to understand this interaction between me and the Universe the more I felt alive as a player in a larger game of life.
During my ten-year career as a Firefighter, I sustained several significant injuries that led me to consider a new career path. I was already trained in critical incident stress management (CISM) in the fire department and interested in the area of psychology, so I embarked on a second graduate degree in psychology and afterward returned to the health field in 2015 as a registered Psychologist. My counselling approach blends these past careers allowing me to be a personal trainer to harmonize the three main systems of Mind, Body, and Spirit. I have found this approach to be most beneficial for my clients to reach their fullest potential, by building fundamental skills to feel self-empowered and self-reflective. As a Psychologist with a Spiritual outlook on life and a keen interest in research on areas of consciousness, I conceptualize each person I work with as a unique Soul who chose to be on this amazing planet at this challenging time.

In 2012 Denise trained with Dr. Richard Tan, founder of The Balance Method in San Diego, California. This “distal acupuncture” technique has significantly influenced Denise’s practice by allowing her to effectively treat many pain and internal medical conditions that are too sensitive or painful to be directly touched or needled. Denise has discovered that this technique can be beneficial for acute and painful sports injuries, chronic degenerative conditions, any pain condition that is too tender to touch, fibromyalgia, obstetrics, and some internal medical conditions.
Denise also provides acupuncture treatments designed to release acute or chronic tight muscles and corresponding mobility challenges by deeply needling into trigger points and other tight muscle tissue. This type of technique can provide deep relief for chronic and stagnant conditions.
Denise offers detailed Traditional Chinese Medicine evaluation and diagnosis, and corresponding acupuncture treatments and food therapy recommendations if indicated.
Denise compliments acupuncture treatments with Traditional Chinese Massage (Tui na), Acupressure, and Cupping (non-fire type) when indicated. Every customized acupuncture treatment Denise administers is based on symptom presentation and a thorough and detailed evaluation.

Cassandra Finch
I began my journey into integrative health in 2011 at the age of 23, when I started taking a conscious-based health approach through the BodyTalk System and then Usui Reiki.
From birth, I’ve struggled with numerous health issues such as asthma, breathing, flu, and constant infections.
As I got older, the health issues varied from migraines, chronic fatigue, severe low back pain, sluggish metabolism and immune system, chronic sinus, throat and chest infections, disrupted sleep, cervical problems, hormonal imbalances, depression, extreme stress over health concerns, unregulated nervous system, insomnia, and fibromyalgia even misdiagnosed as MS.
I was sick and tired of being sick and tired; I was tired of being cynical, negative, low energy, and low moods. I was tired of giving up on myself and on life - I knew there was a bigger purpose for me and I had to dig deep to find it.
I was successful in my corporate job but I was not happy in my life. I knew I needed to make a change, but did not know where to start.
Does this sound familiar to you?
Currently, I am living the best version of myself I never thought possible. I am healthy, energetic, and happy, and work with many different clients and get incredible results.
I got to the bottom of my physical by addressing the energetics and dealing with the root causes. It is also a wonderful personal development tool - you do not need to be “sick” or in “pain” for energy work.
This is why, in 2011, I decided to become a practitioner in energy medicine. Since then, I have served thousands of clients and over 13 thousand sessions WORLDWIDE with incredible results.
I now work with women who struggle with health, confidence, self love and lethargy. My focus is to help women regain their sense of self. I do not work with or mentor men in my practice.

I’m one of the very lucky ones in many aspects. I come from a coastal town and a loving middle-class Argentinian family. My daughter is my world and the biggest force of love I’ve ever felt. I’m very fortunate to have never experienced homelessness, hunger, childhood trauma, or systemic discrimination. I’m in good physical, mental, and spiritual health.
Throughout my life, I’ve been closely related to and interested in healthcare. My dad was a Family Physician, he did public work and also had a home-based practice. Later in life, I worked as a Medical Emergencies Ambulance Dispatcher before leaving Argentina in the year 2000.
In 2011 I left Winnipeg and moved to the Island looking to re-connect with the ocean. Feeling the need to spend more time outdoors, I started my own gardening business. After a day of very hard labour, I couldn’t move without feeling extreme pain. Luckily for me, I went to see an RMT and she had me like new in just a couple of sessions. Since that experience, I continued receiving RMT treatments and I’ve been inspired and fascinated with the power Massage Therapy has to heal and improve people’s quality of life.
This fascination grew to the point where I decided to change careers, enroll in the program to become an RMT, and help the people in my community lead a healthier life through holistic practices and stronger, more meaningful human connections.
I’m currently a very proud graduate student of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and have been providing non-registered massage therapy until fully registered. I’m also a member of the Registered Massage Therapy Association of British Columbia.
I truly believe in the whole-person approach to massage therapy, where science meets a deep understanding of how our bodies work. When massage therapists grasp this complete picture, they can provide safe, effective, and personalized treatments that go beyond just physical relief.
By considering the emotional and spiritual aspects as well, therapists can connect with their clients on a deeper level and create healing experiences that bring balance to both body and mind. This collaborative approach also encourages open communication with other healthcare professionals, ensuring that individuals receive comprehensive and holistic care for their overall well-being.

Born and raised in Victoria, BC, I relocated to Cowichan in 2014.
My journey has been a wonderful series of synchronicities. I began healing as a Holistic Massage Practitioner in the 90’s. I have been an Intuitive Medium for over 30 years.
While living in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, I was studying at the Centro Metodo Holistico, (Holistic Method Centre), with Dr. Martina Goldberg, where I completed up to Level 13+ in Universal Energy Healing from the HUE Faculty of Dr. Master Luong Minh Dang. In 2016, I also completed Level 1 & 2 courses in Radionics (Dousing).
I was introduced to Biomagnetism from personal experience when I was ill with salmonella bacteria. It healed me. I was intrigued and impressed by how my body could heal, and so excited to add this modality to my practice. Thus, I went on to study Biomagnetism with Dr. Goíz Duran, completing both levels 1 & 2, in 2007 and 2012. I was excited to expand my skills to integrate these abilities.
In April 2014, I took the Pacific Essences Energy Practitioner Training in Victoria, BC, and in September 2015, the Certified Dowsing Professionally course from the Avebury School of Esoteric Studies.
The essence of Biomagnetism is finding the root cause of illness and treating it naturally. It is an essential healing tool for prevention, illness, and recovery for your whole family.
Energy Healing assists in balancing the chakras and clients say it is a lovely relaxing experience.

His approach to counselling is integrative, relational, and aims to meet clients where they are at. Todd has training in mindfulness, self-compassion, and acceptance-based, cognitive, solution-focused, and trauma-informed approaches to counselling and psychotherapy as well as cultural safety and harm reduction. Todd is currently learning more about somatic approaches to therapy and “parts work” (e.g., Internal Family System), which also informs his current therapeutic approach.
Todd also provides psychedelic preparation/integration services. He has experience with psychedelic medicines and non-ordinary states of consciousness in clinical, ceremonial, and naturalistic settings. These experiences inform the support he is able to provide clients who choose to engage in self-exploration with psychedelic substances and non-ordinary states. Todd does not currently provide therapy or any sort of sessions that directly involve psychedelic substances.
Todd spends a lot of time in nature either running, walking/hiking, or just bathing in the energy of the natural world. He recently moved to Vancouver Island, and being closer to the Old Growth Forest and the ocean were major factors in that move. For Todd, cultivating a relationship with nature is important for overall wellness.

I’m a proud Kurdish-Canadian raised in a small city in northern Syria, and have been residing in the Cowichan Valley since 2017.
Coming from a multicultural background, I speak Kurdish, Arabic, and English fluently.
I am happily married and a proud father of two wonderful children. My family is my greatest joy, inspiration, and motivation.
I am a West Coast College of Massage Therapy graduate, fulfilling my ambition to offer registered massage therapy to my clients at Purely Wellness.
Prior to my journey in Canada, I worked as a Physiotherapist Assistant in Syria, where I gained 10 years of valuable experience. I graduated in 2005 and successfully ran my own wellness clinic offering rehabilitation therapy and reflexology until the onset of the war, which forced me to seek refuge in northern Iraq. Witnessing the plight of fellow refugees in camps, where they faced severe shortages of medicine and medical personnel, motivated me to join the non-governmental organization, PUI (Première Urgence Internationale). There, I served as a paramedic/medical assistant and provided support in health centers within the camps, eventually advancing to the role of Team Leader. In this capacity, I organized presentations to raise awareness about various health issues affecting refugee families.
My unwavering goal is to help individuals regardless of their background, age, gender, or religion. I am dedicated to empowering people to regain their strength and health, walk with them through their wellness journey, and ensure they leave the clinic with a smile. I look forward to working with the diverse and welcoming community we have in the Cowichan Valley. I am thankful and appreciate this beautiful community, and offer my experience and service to promote health and well-being for all.
Outside the scope of massage therapy, I love hiking, hunting, playing soccer, and spending time with loved ones and friends.

Vital Life Mentor
“Vital force is your greatest resource.”
I have dedicated my personal mastery and professional study to fostering human vitality, established in the knowledge that our vital force is our greatest resource.
With a Diploma from the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine, 18 years of clinical practice, and postgraduate studies leading to Fellowship status, I have cultivated a deep understanding of how to trust the vital force.
My approach uses natural Homeopathic Remedies alongside scientifically validated Coherence Techniques developed by the HeartMath Institute. As a Vital Life Mentor, I empower others with these powerful tools to break through limits and maximize their potential.
Although I work with individuals of any age or gender, my specialty is in maternal health. Why? Many women feel let down by their experiences in the medical system, especially regarding their births.
The vital force of both mother and baby can be influenced during pregnancy, impacted by labor, and conditioned by the family dynamic.
To address this, I study with the Wise Woman Way of Birth and Traditional Birth Companion communities, both of which emphasize the importance of physiological birth through a trauma-informed lens. Engaging in expert Homeopathic care before and or during pregnancy can serve as a catalyst for safe and gentle births.
Are you curious about how to naturally transform your individual vitality? Or innately navigate your birth and/or enhance the harmony within your family dynamic? To follow your intuition, book a FREE DISCOVERY CALL.
I believe when humans foster a reliable connection to their vital force, the overall health of families will improve, creating an enlightening future for us all.

Of all the experiences of my life, seeing the real-time transformation in my clients from pain to freedom is one of my greatest joys and inspirations. It is an honour and a privilege to be a part of your healing journey. I look forward to providing you with the necessary treatments to facilitate your ease of movement, a sense of calm relaxation, and relief from your pain and discomfort – thus restoring your sense of well-being. I make every effort to create an environment that feels welcoming, spacious, professional, and warm.
My career journey into massage and manual therapies began when I enrolled in the one-year full-time Shiatsu Therapy program at Sourcepoint Shiatsu Centre, graduating in 2006, enabling me to become registered with the Shiatsu Therapy Association of BC. Later, I realized a long-time goal of becoming a Registered Massage Therapist in 2019 after graduating from the 3000-hour RMT program in B.C. While there are similarities in each person’s experience of pain, I view and assess each unique patient with an wholistic mindset. I then develop a treatment plan that is specifically formulated to treat the areas of pain you are experiencing. With your collaboration, I aim to achieve lasting solutions to your particular areas of pain. I am always seeking to discover the underlying cause of an individual’s pain and discomfort and bring them back to harmony and balance.
Some chronic conditions I treat with positive outcomes include thoracic outlet and carpal tunnel syndromes, frozen shoulder, tendonitis, sacroiliac joint dysfunctions, plantar fasciitis, Morton’s neuroma, tension headaches, chronic neck/back pain, and postural imbalances such as “head forward posture” (with associated neck/shoulder pain) and hyper-lordosis of the lower back.
Some techniques I use are myofascial release, deep tissue release, joint mobilizations, nerve decompression, neuromuscular techniques, muscle balancing (agonist/antagonist concept) and stretching. Since graduating in 2019, I have completed several courses in advanced orthopedic assessment and treatments in sacral balancing, hip/pelvis assessment and treatment, and deep tissue techniques. My main passion and joy in life is helping others reach their health goals, self-improvement and personal growth. I frequently receive positive feedback from clients experiencing long-lasting pain relief. My clients also often refer their spouses, family, and friends to me. I hope to be able to assist you too.
Of all the experiences of my life, seeing the real-time transformation in my clients from pain to... Read More
